BodyMetrix Questions And Answers

FAQs
How long do assessments take?
Depending on the number of sites you are measuring, assessments can take 2 – 10 minutes.

How accurate is the BodyMetrix System?
The BodyMetrix System has been found to be more accurate than skin fold calipers and BIA devices (Bio-electrical impedance). BodyMetrix System results are comparable to underwater weighing and air displacements. Only x-ray technology and BodyMetrix have the ability to track changes in fat loss and muscle gain.

What are the advantages of the BodyMetrix System over other methods?
The BodyMetrix System is easy to use, portable, non-invasive, consistently accurate, and has no limiting factors. The BodyMetrix is the only method available to accurately track changes in fat and muscle other than large expensive x-ray CT and MRI machines.

Are there any limitations to using the BodyMetrix System?
Skin fold calipers require extensive user skill, and BIA devices are sensitive to hydration, caffeine and exercise levels. The BodyMetrix is easy to use, non-invasive, and is not sensitive to hydration, caffeine or exercise.

Is there a significant difference in the number of site I use or formulas for calculating Body Fat Percentage?
Depending on body type there can be a few percent difference between formulas used to measure Body Fat Percentage. We recommend that you select one formula and use it regularly to accurately track changes.

Is the BodyMetrix System safe for use on pregnant women, people with pacemakers or other medical conditions?
The BodyMetrix System is safe to be used on all healthy individuals.
How often should I do assessments and scans?
It depends on your program. It generally takes a minimum of 4 – 6 weeks to see a change in body composition.
